Rationale of blog draft

NEED RESEARCH, I looked a facebook, this blog http://blog.iso50.com/14312/overcoming-creative-block/, imgur, reddit.

facebook has a good layout -although too much stuff on the sides
the blog has good ideas to help me start or give me an idea on how to post
imgur has a good picture/gif viewing layout
reddit has a very simple and clean layout with plenty of white space.

each website has a reason why people come back to them so I took inspirtation from each one.

I adjsuted the width of the layout in order to view images i post in "large" size option of blogger to maximise the image viewing capabilities.


The idea behind this blog
is to invoke ideas when users are stuck with a mind block/writers block etc.

Everyone experiences this so it will attract a broad audience so it has the potential to attract a large audience. also there are very few blogs that focus on this particular topic. I choose this topic over my original idea of posting whatever creative thing I liked and my own comment under it, this idea was to broad and not unique since a lot of people already do this, so there was a lot of competition.

my idea of dealing with creative mind block adds a unique element to my blog as well as allows me to post creative things that I enjoy looking at and that inspire me, as well as motivate users to be creative as well.

The URL is kept short in order to be more memorable.

The images used will be from the website Imgur, and only going through the "Sort by Newest" in order to get the latest content. also music will be posted every now and then from Youtube.

I kept the background fairly low key, in order to not draw away attention of the user to it.

content will be posted 3 times per week. sometimes including music, mostly pictures.



I choose to move my personal details to the bottom of the page in order to let the pictures/content speak for itself. rather than having it on the side distracting my viewers away from the content, which results it becoming a nuisance. Also if the user was truly interested in the owner of the blog, they would search for me by going to the bottom rather than having it constantly in their face.

The content will be of everyday images showing how to create/design certain items. similar to a how-to thing, except the content will only show finished products and use the text underneath each post to help motivate users to do something creative similar to the image used in the post.




Only added search and a +1 button as my gadgets to help users sift through the blog and promote it.
The search bar is at the top for easy access.
